Forward!
You’re invited to Dallas Decoder’s next #DallasChat on Twitter, which I’ll hold Monday, November 24, from 9 to 10 p.m. Eastern time.
We’ll reflect on the recent efforts to rescue “Dallas” from cancellation and discuss the future of the franchise. Our theme: #DallasForever.
If you have ideas for questions, leave them in the comments section below, tweet them to me @DallasDecoder or post them to my Facebook page. I may choose one or more questions and ask them during our discussion.
Are you new to #DallasChat? Here’s how it works: For one hour, I tweet 10 questions to my fellow “Dallas” fans. Each question is numbered and includes the hashtag #DallasChat, so your responses should include the answer number and the hashtag.
Here’s a sample exchange:
Q1. Where would you like to see “Dallas” go from here? #DallasChat
A1. I’ll take “Dallas” however I can get it — novels, comic books, movies. Maybe even a Broadway musical! #DallasChat
Here are two tips:
• During the discussion, enter #DallasChat in Twitter’s search field. This will help you watch the search results so you can follow the conversation. Click “All” to see all the related tweets.
• Be sure to include #DallasChat in your tweets. This allows the other participants to see your contributions to the conversation.
I look forward to hearing your ideas. Please join us!
Just as long we can get this wonderful show back. I am up for anything. Let;s do this!!!!
DALLAS ON TV! DALLAS ON TV! I love the drama of watching them on television every week.Have to see these characters and the actors who play them in person, regularly!
Chris B do you have an email account for Warner Brother’s? I do not have twitter so I can not use that access to contact them. Any emails I can still forward Warner Brothers please let me know.
Hi Dallas Fan,
Unfortunately, I don’t know of a good email address for Warner Bros. I’m sorry.
Chris
I have Twitter. What do you need?
We should enlist family members to sign the petition as a gift and focus on other Dallas fans around the world to keep fighting to save Dallas. I do love the idea that Netflixs is considering Dallas. We need to show our numbers are high
That is wonderful that Netflix is considering Dallas. But, I hope another station comes into play.
Let us hope for the best for the show.
I do not know the specifics of why “Dallas” is not on the air. Here is what I have to say about a “Dallas” movie. There was a rumor of “Dallas the Movie” prior to “Dallas on TNT” and it sounded 100% HORRIBLE!!! The rumors included Paris Hylton as Lucy and John Travolta as J.R. Ewing (please forgive my abominable comment,as I am only talking about the reports I read at the time.) I am so happy that movie was never made. I do not want a “Dallas” movie to be a spoof like the “Brady Bunch Movie” is. Now I am going to say something that sounds ridiculous but here it is – I thought of a great idea/outline for a “Dallas” movie that takes off right where season 3 ends. – I am not a writer and I do not have any published writing. I do have great ideas from time to time and what I have in mind is so over the top crazy that it is, in my humble opinion, perfect for “Dallas”.
I want to hear this idea, Michael!
A Dallas movie would be great. If would have to be great casting. Perhaps, Meryl Streep or Jessica Lange or Michelle Pfeiffer.
As far as men go….Not sure of that just yet.
It should be a TV movie not a big screen feature and it should be the original cast to star in it. If it needs to be in the theater, still have the original cast like they did with the X Files movie.
John Walden has a wonderful series he’s written. He picks up where Season 3 ends. He’s written 10 episodes so far. You can read it here: http://dallasthelegacy.weebly.com/dallas/episode-41-aftermath
The TV movie should star original cast members not recasting. It also should begin where season 3 left off. I believe that Christopher should come back. If they cant get the original actor, then say that he was in a coma with burns and he was rushed by helicopter to another county hospital for special treatment. Then keep the audience updated as time goes on about his progress. Then at the end, have someone call home to his family, saying its going to be quite some time for his body to heal but he’s going to survive! To Be Continued from there for season four on the channel or whoever takes the show up. Go with the same format as season 3. Not a spoof for both the movie and season 4!!!!
Interesting, I’ll have to look at it more when I have time. Who is Jesse McCartney? Is that for the role of John Ross’s sister?
I’d love Dallas back on any network but without Cidre. I’d like new writers and a new direction. If you’re familiar with John Walden’s fan fiction, I’d love it the show was picked up with his ideas or even him as a writer!
I completely agree with you, Lisa Kay! John Walden TOTALLY understands the original Dallas and has done a great job with the new characters. It’s what the show needed all along. I don’t think it would have been cancelled if it hadn’t lost millions of viewers over the 3 years it was on.
i do have to agree with what Brian Bruce says he made an excellent post!!!!
Please do not let netflix pick up the show get abc cbs or someother local network anything but netflix
I wasn’t aware Netflix was considering picking it up. I sort of dismissed them after Cidre said they weren’t an option. I don’t know what changed, but if this truly CAN happen than let’s not find reasons for it to NOT happen. It is never going back to CBS or any other TV heavy hitter…that is closer to an impossibility than a mere long-shot.
Please, let’s not get the “Anyone But Netflix” train rolling. The alternative is nothing, and you can’t tell me Netflix isn’t better than nothing.
