Do you hate “Dallas” storylines that other fans love?
Maybe you feel the “Who Shot J.R.?” mystery doesn’t stand the test of time. Perhaps you were bored by the Pam/Bobby/Jenna love triangle, or maybe you think “Dallas” was getting along quite nicely without Bobby when he suddenly materialized in Pam’s shower. Perhaps you find Judith Ryland’s transformation into a drug-smuggling madam utterly ridiculous.

IMHO, the Pam/Bobby/Jenna storyline was way overrated. I adored Priscilla Presley as Jenna, but her character was an annoying woman who was so argumentative all the time with Pam and was even mean at times to Bobby! I always knew in my heart that Bobby should be with Pam and not Jenna. I just could not see how Bobby would ever be happy with Jenna even though she was his first love; Pam was the love of his life.
Jennifer, I love the way you phrased that (“first love”/”love of his life”). Beautiful. I also agree with everything you wrote. Thanks!
“Who Killed JR?” was the mystery that wasn’t, just PR smoke. I dreamed up suspects that weren’t there and was so disappointed when the tear-smeared ‘revelation’ was made in the cemetery. Come on! Joel Grey, the cardigan, and the mirror were better than that!
Agreed. Seriously the payoff for that particular storyline was such a huge letdown that it just left a bad taste in my mouth
the love triangle of pam/bobby/jenna.
The adoption of a mentally handicapped adult child by Ray & Donna. That was dumb as the story arc was so weak b/c the handicapped kid has a limited ability to speak. So can’t evolve. Donna & Ray volunteering in a handicapped children’s or adult children’s centre would have made the story more interesting. Strict volunteering, no adopting.
The Marinos shipping story was overrated, but as it never happened am sure if it counts?
Grace and Angelica were interesting to watch though, a shame their involvement was underplayed
The payoff for the who shot JR storyline was very disappointing. I thought it would be a tightly written whodunit but it was not. They shuttled the character off the show which drained the story of suspense. In watching the original I find the resolutions to cliffhangers unsatisfying. Even though JR had clout it was still hard to believe he had the power to set Kristen free. It was never explained how Kristen got the gun in Sue Ellen’s purse was it?
