‘Dallas’ Gets a Summer Premiere Date

Dallas, Emma Bell, Emma Ryland, TNT

Rest up, darlin’

“Dallas’s” third season will continue through mid-April, and then the show will take a midseason break and return on Monday, August 18,  TNT announced today.

The series is expected to run seven episodes during its “summer” run, which means the 15-hour season will probably wrap up in late September or early October. TNT will continue to show the series on Monday nights at 9 Eastern time.

TNT has long planned to break up “Dallas’s” season into two halves, much like AMC has done with series such as “Mad Men” and “The Walking Dead.”

The cable channel’s August lineup will also include “Legends,” a new FBI drama that will debut on Wednesday, August 20, followed by the season premiere of “Franklin & Bash” at 10 p.m. TNT’s most popular shows, including “Major Crimes” and “Rizzoli & Isles,” will show new episodes beginning in June.

  1. Hope we don’t have to wait almost a whole year…again…for the show to start again, after this summer run.

  2. So when do we think they will give the “go” for S4? Start filming when, start airing when? Prolly we won’t see the first episode of S4 before 2015, right? (And please, I don’t want any of you haters respond to this post with nonsense like “this is their last season” bla-bla!)

  3. I’m looking forward to seeing Dallas in the summer. When the first season of Dallas on TNT began in Summer 2012, it had its best ratings. Putting Dallas on Mondays in the winter has brought the ratings down. They should’ve kept Dallas on Wednesdays in the summer like it was. Let’s hope viewers watch Dallas this season in the summer months and hopefully it will return for Season 4.

  4. Not sure if there will be a season 4, the ratings keep falling. Not enough people are watching! Everyone needs to get the word, if you stopped watching last year or even the first year, try again, the show has improved this year.

  5. For a gay guy married to another ma, u sure use Emma Ryland’s barely there bikini a lot. Andrew I suspect C. B. could be turned straight. Watch out dude! Summeriffic boys!

  6. Garnet McGee says:

I’m enjoying the show but I don’t know if it was a good idea for the writers to tarnish the element of the new show that was causing the most internet buzz which was the pairing of Pamela and John Ross. I know there are many who enjoy John Ross as the cheating scoundrel like his father but that aspect of the story may have driven away some of the enthusiastic younger viewers.

  7. this season has been awesome so far. i do think they shouldve let John Ross and Pamela have happiness for awhile before lil JR started slinken around. that being said, i know that they are limited on time so they gotta work with what they got. TNT understands the problem with Monday Cable ratings and they seem pretty patient so maybe they wont be to quick to pull the plug. another thing is that the rating system isnt very accurate. i hear so many people locally talking about Dallas in different places that i go and also where i work so i know more people are watching than what is being counted. SUE ELLEN gets discussed quite alot as does John Ross/ Pamela/Emma and of course Judith.

  8. I’m sick of all the Reality shows, the writing on Dallas and having a real story with real actors to watch is a nice change. I like the NCIS shows of the world but I give the Dallas writers credit, the quality to keep my interest has been very good. TNT, keep Dallas on for a long time, there’s a definite crowd watching.

  9. Tracy Howe says:

I was around to watch the original Dallas. And I must say this new updated version is just as addictive as the original. Have not missed one episode of both new or old. Just hope the ratings for the show improve and hopefully it can run as long as the original. Love the mid summer cliff hanger. People should tune in as each session as got better.

  10. Ralph Hahn says:

“3rd season, 4th season? Today’s “Dallas” is essentially the same show that ran on CBS years ago. Why not just add THESE seasons to the older show. Before the death of Larry Hagman, you had three of the old Dallas’ biggest stars in the new one.

  11. dominique sadler says:

I cant wait lov this show going back to when it first aired.

  12. yankee girl says:

Grew up on the original dallas…hooked on the new….awesome

  13. Can’t wait for the new season 4 to begin. Dallas is my favorite TV show…….just LOVE IT!!!

  14. So mad! I did not know there was a mid-season/summer series of Dallas until I heard today it was the season finale. We have missed all the summer shows and are Dallas fans! Why was this not advertised much?

  15. tnt dallas come back on season 4 contued 2014

  16. Please keep Dallas going..
    We are original Dallas viewers.
We even named one of our daughters after a original cast member…
The story line and cast members are very prevalent to the pertinent times but still keeping to the original Dallas story line ..

  17. I hope season 4 of Dallas comes soon because that’s a bad ass show

  18. Please tell me when Dallas tv show starts in 2015
