#DallasChat Daily: What’s J.R. and Sue Ellen’s Best Scene?

J.R. Ewing, Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, Sue Ellen Ewing, TNT

J.R. and Sue Ellen Ewing’s love story spanned more than three decades. What’s your favorite moment?

Their clash before he was shot? The time they reminisced about their courtship? Their confrontation after she caught him in bed with Holly Harwood? The time she gave him a taste of his own medicine? Their reunion at the Cattle Baron’s Ball? Something else?

#DallasChat Daily: Were J.R. and Sue Ellen Good Parents?

John Ross Ewing, Josh Henderson, J.R. Ewing, Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, Sue Ellen Ewing, TNT

J.R. and Sue Ellen’s marriage had its ups and downs, but how would you describe the way they raised their son, John Ross?

Consider: J.R. devoted much of his life to building a legacy for John Ross, although he wasn’t exactly a moral role model for the boy, was he? Meanwhile, Sue Ellen drank throughout her pregnancy and struggled to bond with John Ross when he was a baby, although after her divorce from J.R., she allowed the child to stay at Southfork because she believed it was best for him. On balance, did the couple do right by John Ross?

#DallasChat Daily: Which ‘Dallas’ Storylines are Overrated?

Bobby Ewing, Dallas, Jenna Wade, J.R. Ewing, Judith Light, Judith Ryland, Larry Hagman, Pam Ewing, Patrick Duffy, Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, TNT, Victoria Principal

Do you hate “Dallas” storylines that other fans love?

Maybe you feel the “Who Shot J.R.?” mystery doesn’t stand the test of time. Perhaps you were bored by the Pam/Bobby/Jenna love triangle, or maybe you think “Dallas” was getting along quite nicely without Bobby when he suddenly materialized in Pam’s shower. Perhaps you find Judith Ryland’s transformation into a drug-smuggling madam utterly ridiculous.

#DallasChat Daily: Which ‘Dallas’ Storylines are Underrated?

Angelica Nero, AnnaLynne McCord, Barbara Bel Geddes, Barbara Carrera, Christopher Atkins, Christopher Ewing, Dack Rambo, Dallas, Heather McCabe, Jack Ewing, Jesse Metcalfe, J.R. Ewing, Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow, Pam Ewing, Peter Richards, Steve Forrest, Sue Ellen Ewing, TNT, Wes Parmalee, Victoria Principal

Do you love “Dallas” storylines that other fans hate?

Maybe you find Sue Ellen and Peter’s May/December romance provocative and love everything (or most things) about the “dream season.” Or perhaps you were intrigued by the Wes Parmalee saga. On the new show, maybe you wonder why Christopher and Heather’s romance doesn’t receive more attention from your fellow fans.

#DallasChat Daily: What’s ‘Dallas’s’ Worst Storyline?

Bobby Ewing, Cally Harper Ewing, Cathy Podewell, Dack Rambo, Dallas, Jack Ewing, J.R. Ewing, Judith Light, Judith Ryland, Larry Hagman, Pam Ewing, Patrick Duffy, TNT

Even great television shows occasionally deliver dud storylines, and “Dallas” is no exception. The groaners include J.R. and Jack’s involvement in the Dimitri Marinos masquerade; the ham-fisted handling of Victoria Principal’s departure from the original series; J.R.’s misadventures in Haleyville, Arkansas; and the eye-rolling revelation that Judith Ryland is a madam.

‘Dallas’ Episode Titles, Airdates Posted

Dallas, Elena Ramos, Hurt, John Ross Ewing, Jordana Brewster, Josh Henderson, Juan Pablo Di Pace, Julie Gonzalo, Nicolas Trevino, Pamela Rebecca Barnes Ewing, TNT

Who’ll get “Hurt”?

We don’t know what will happen during the second half of “Dallas’s” third season, but we do know what the episodes will be called and when we might see them:

• TNT posted the titles online last week. They are: “Denial, Anger, Acceptance” (Episode 34), “Dead Reckoning” (Episode 35), “Hurt” (Episode 36), “Victims of Love” (Episode 37), “Boxed In” (Episode 38), “Endgame” (Episode 39) and “Brave New World” (Episode 40).

• TNT hasn’t released airdates, except to say “Denial, Anger, Acceptance” will be shown Monday, August 18. According to IMDb, TNT will televise the remaining episodes on successive Mondays, with one exception: The last two episodes, “Endgame” and “Brave New World,” will each be shown September 22.

Nothing is official until TNT confirms it, of course. But if the airdates on IMDb are accurate, “Dallas” will wrap up its third year on what will probably be the first night of the 2014-15 television season, when the broadcast networks will be going all out to lure viewers. In other words: The competition will be tough.

Also, trivia buffs, take note: The original “Dallas” had an “End Game” (Bobby gets shot!) and a “Dead Reckoning” (Miss Ellie boots Clayton off Southfork!), while “The Sopranos” had a “Denial, Anger, Acceptance” (Meadow does speed!).

#DallasChat Daily: What’s ‘Dallas’s’ Best Storyline?

Barbara Bel Geddes, Bobby Ewing, Dallas, J.R. Ewing, Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, Miss Ellie Ewing, Pam Ewing, Patrick Duffy, Sue Ellen Ewing, TNT, Victoria Principal

“Dallas” has delivered a lot of great storytelling over the years, including the story that started it all — Bobby and Pam’s marriage — as well as Miss Ellie’s bout with breast cancer, J.R. and Bobby’s contest for control of Ewing Oil and J.R.’s death. With so much wonderful material to choose from, can you choose a favorite?
